Phyllis Calvert stars as an American lass in Italy whose priest tells her that neighboring villagers believe they are accursed because of the disappearance of a priceless painting, The Golden Madonna, which had hung in their church for centuries. When it is revealed that she mistakenly tossed out the painting, she goes to great lengths to find it.
