MAN OF FLOWERS is Paul Cox's breakthrough film, it premiered at Cannes Film Festival, played in festivals worldwide and is considered a masterpiece of Australian cinema.
A quirky but poignant tale about 'Man of Flowers' Charles Bremer (Norman Kaye), a painter who earned his nickname from his beautifully rendered flower portraits. He uses his artistic skills to channel his repressed sexual yearnings, especially his feelings towards young artists's model Lisa (Alyson Best) who he pays to come to his house and remove her clothes to the tune of the 'Love Duet' from 'Lucia di Lammermoor.' He then runs across the street and rapturously plays the church organ. He soon becomes entangled in her messy private life.
